Aldi has urged shoppers to add any of 11 items to their weekly food shop to support communities struggling during the summer holidays. The supermarket says these are the most needed products for donation at collection points in stores nationwide.

According to Aldi's charity partner Neighbourly, the most in-demand items this summer are tinned food, toiletries, tea and coffee, breakfast cereals, juices and soft drinks, UHT milk, laundry and cleaning products, rice and pasta, cooking sauces, oils and condiments, pet food, and baby essentials.
The plea comes as food banks call for donations of basic items, with families facing extra pressure during school holidays. In 2025, the number of people relying on Trussell's support increased to 2.6 million, with 912,000 food parcels going to children.
How to donate
Customers can donate these items at community collection points in Aldi stores nationwide, with all donations distributed to local food banks and charities through Aldi's partnership with Neighbourly. Alongside customer donations, Aldi has committed to donating an estimated two million meals to charities this summer through the partnership.
Aldi also works with Company Shop to redistribute surplus food from regional distribution centres and partners with The Salvation Army to donate unsold non-food Specialbuys to people in need.
