Dog Spends Three Years in Kennels, Rejected for Heartbreaking Reason
An adorable dog named Frida has spent three long years waiting in kennels for a new owner, but continues to be overlooked by all potential adopters due to her so-called "unlovable face." The three-year-old pooch is desperately searching for a loving home anywhere in the United Kingdom.
Frida's Rescue and Medical History
Frida was taken in by the animal rescue organisation Miracle's Mission when she was just a puppy. She was rescued in Bosnia after being involved in an accident that injured her leg, presumably from being hit by a car. An orthopaedic specialist in Bosnia operated on her leg to straighten it, and it has healed exceptionally well.
The rescue centre stated: "She has no issues walking, running or playing. Her rescuer does not believe this old injury bothers her at all." Despite walking slightly differently, Frida is fully mobile and active.
Frida's Personality and Training
Weighing around 15 kilograms, Frida is spayed, vaccinated, and described as brilliant with people and other dogs. She has no reported behavioural concerns and is considered a very well-rounded and amenable dog. Her recall is good, and she can "turn her paw to anything given the right motivation, love and support."
Frida travels well in cars and is accustomed to spending time with humans, as the shelter owner frequently takes her everywhere. She is an active dog who would thrive living with another playful, energetic canine companion.
The Struggle for Adoption
After spending her entire life in kennels, Miracle's Mission recently shared a heartfelt Facebook post to generate more interest. The post read: "Apparently this is an unlovable face. For over three years, sweet Frida has waited for a suitable home. She is amazing with dogs and people, even kids. She loves going for walks and riding in the car. You can take her to the pub or a cafe, and she loves being sociable. What more can she do to get your attention?"
The post garnered emotional responses from social media users. One commenter wrote: "Darling Frida, you look adorable. Shared with love and hope for you." Another added: "Wish we were living near you. What a sweetheart." A third simply said: "So cute."
How to Help Frida
Frida remains in the care of Miracle's Mission, eagerly awaiting a forever home. The rescue centre emphasises that she can be rehomed anywhere in the UK and is a perfect companion for an active household. Anyone interested in rehoming Frida or another dog under Miracle's Mission's care can contact the team directly.
