Kate Middleton Kisses William After Polo Raises £1M for Cancer Centre

Princess Kate kissed Prince William after the DMMI Royal Charity Polo Cup raised over £1 million for 10 charities, including a new children's cancer centre at Evelina London Children's Hospital. The event took place on July 10, 2026, at Guards Polo Club in Windsor, with William on the winning team.

Over £1 Million Raised for Charity

The match raised £1,050,000, distributed across 10 charities supported by both William and Kate. Over 15 years, William's participation has raised £15 million for various causes. This year, for the first time, Evelina London Children's Hospital—one of Kate's patronages—benefited from a donation.

Evelina London Children's Hospital to Receive Funds

Evelina London's chief executive, Gubby Ayida, said: "It's absolutely huge, and we are really honoured to be a beneficiary of something like this. The timing could not have been better as next year we are looking forward to opening our new principal treatment centre, which is specialist cancer services for children." The hospital aims to open the centre in 2030, offering specialist cancer services for children across London and the South-East. Kate visited the hospital on Monday, meeting medical teams and parents.

Support for Homelessness Charity The Passage

Another beneficiary is The Passage, a homelessness charity close to William's heart. Mick Clarke, CEO of The Passage, said: "Especially in this cost of living crisis, it is great to know that we have this money coming in that will be used to help prevent and end homelessness." William has been involved with The Passage since age 11 and leads the Homewards campaign to make homelessness "rare, brief and unrepeated." Clarke added that William often visits under the radar, enjoying hands-on help like washing up.

Wales Air Ambulance Also Receives Donation

The Wales Air Ambulance, celebrating its 25th anniversary, also received a donation. Dr. Sue Barnes, its chief executive, said: "We are amazingly grateful. What we do is expensive, and our average mission cost is about £3,500 so we need to raise over £30 million a year just to keep going." She noted William's passion for the service, given his past as an air ambulance pilot.

Kate Presents Trophies and Shares a Kiss

Kate presented the cup and other awards before the couple walked hand-in-hand across the pitch. The kiss was captured as she handed over the trophies. The event raised funds for vital work across multiple charities, with a focus on children's cancer services.
