Big Brother Star Warns After Fake Diet Jab Ordeal

Former Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace has issued a stark warning after a near-death experience with counterfeit diet injections. The reality television personality opened up about her ordeal on Good Morning Britain, detailing the devastating effects she suffered.

The Harrowing Experience

Aisleyne, who rose to fame on Big Brother in 2006, revealed she first discovered the injections through TikTok. A friend sourced them via a WhatsApp group for approximately £100 for a month's supply. "It was pre-mixed, it came in a syringe in a box with no instructions, and I foolishly took it," she said.

She injected the substance into her stomach, admitting she pressed ahead despite reservations because she was "in a really dark place." She explained, "That's what I'm concerned about with other people. If you're vulnerable, which I was at the time, I'd gone through a lot of grief in a short space of time. I wanted a quick fix, something to help me physically and mentally feel better and I thought that was it."

Devastating Symptoms

Aisleyne described her symptoms as awful. "I was in bed for three to four days, I want to say, comatose, in and out of consciousness. Bags of sick to be quite frank all by bed, I couldn't even crawl to the toilet. It was a dark, scary place." She did not call 999, noting she felt sick after the first injection but carried on, with symptoms hitting hard after the second.

Call for Action

Aisleyne called on the government to do more to tackle the trade in fake injections. She warned viewers, "Do you really want to put yourself through all of that? You could die. Go to the gym."

TikTok responded with a statement read by host Ranvir Singh: "TikTok says it is clear it does not allow trading, marketing or providing access to regulated, prohibited or high-risk goods and services. This includes regulated substances such as products marketed for weight."

Past Cosmetic Ordeal

This warning comes after Aisleyne faced a nightmare cosmetic surgery experience in 2016 on Celebrity Botched Bodies, where she suffered excruciating pain from veneers. "The pain was excruciating. He tortured me. I felt like I was just a guinea pig for him," she previously said. After treatment, she added, "I'd say my life has improved since the treatment because my confidence is back. I'm happy to smile, I don't feel so self conscious. I don't cover my mouth when I'm laughing anymore."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
