Santa, a dog who lost an eye and bravely battled cancer, is still waiting for a forever home in the UK. Despite enduring immense suffering, the resilient canine greets everyone with a wagging tail and a gentle nature.
Abandoned and Injured in Greece
Santa was found abandoned on the streets of Nemea, Greece, with a devastating eye injury. The damage was so severe that vets had to remove the eye. Just as he began recovering from the operation, he was diagnosed with penile cancer and underwent another surgery, followed by a long recovery.
Cancer-Free and Healthy
Against all odds, Santa pulled through and is now cancer-free, healthy, and recovering well in a temporary foster home. He has shown a loving and forgiving nature, despite losing an eye and surviving cancer.
According to his rescuers at Greek Stray ResQ & Support, Santa doesn't know he's different. He simply wakes up each day hoping someone will finally choose him. The calm and affectionate dog loves human company, gets on brilliantly with other dogs, and is happiest lying beside the people he loves.
Appeal for a Forever Home
Greek Stray ResQ & Support is appealing for someone to look beyond Santa's missing eye and see the extraordinary dog underneath. After everything he has endured, they believe he deserves the chance to experience love, safety, and security in a forever home.
Commenting on his rehoming post, one user said: "He's gorgeous do hope someone out there can give this beautiful dog his forever home." Another user added: "They truly are angels from heaven. People should respect, love, and be kind to them always. Thank you for all you do. God bless these innocent souls and all of you wonderful people."
