Visitors to County Durham's Kynren theme park have been enjoying a day full of adventure, fun, and inspiring tales during the school summer holidays. Unlike traditional theme parks, Kynren offers no rides or rollercoasters; instead, audiences are treated to unforgettable shows throughout the day.
Shows bring history to life
The performances bring North East history and folklore to life in a way previously only seen in Kynren's popular night shows. Now, these spectacular daytime shows are available from Tuesday to Sunday, with a special night show every Saturday.
The shows feature original scores by the BBC Concert Orchestra, immediately transporting visitors back in time to watch Norman jousting and Viking battles. The action-packed performances include multiple expertly choreographed fight sequences.
Opening times and booking
Kynren's Day Park is open from 18th July until 12th September 2026, every Tuesday to Friday and Sunday from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Saturday times may vary as the Day Park is not open on days of Kynren's night show events, so visitors are advised to check their tickets.
Visitors are encouraged to book tickets online for cheaper prices: adults £30, children £20, and children aged 3 and under go free. The ticket includes access to the Day Park, all five spectacular shows, and a personalised itinerary.
