Claremont Rambling Club Walked in Dalmellington Sunshine

Claremont Rambling Club enjoyed a trip to Dalmellington in East Ayrshire, where members took advantage of the sunny weather for a leisurely walk. Despite an early-morning international football match on Sunday, June 14, the club continued the celebrations just a few hours later by exploring the scenic routes around Dalmellington.

Bus Journey and Coffee Stop

The club bus made a stop en route for coffee at Dobbies Garden Centre in Ayr before continuing to Dalmellington. All participants undertook the same walk on this occasion, a relatively easy route of just under six miles.

Circular Route Highlights

The walk followed a roughly circular path from the town, passing Bogton Loch, winding through the Craigengillan Estate, and following the River Doon. The weather was sunny but not too warm, creating perfect conditions for the outing.

The day was rounded off with a social hour at the very welcoming Dalmellington Inn before the bus transported everyone back to East Kilbride. For more information about the club, visit claremontramblers.co.uk or their Facebook page.
