Amanda Owen has disclosed the brutal response from her children regarding her latest professional venture as a children's author. The 'Our Yorkshire Farm' star, known as The Yorkshire Shepherdess, announced earlier this year that she will release her debut children's book, 'Christmas Tales From The Farm', this Christmas.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine on Thursday, the 50-year-old mother of nine revealed that her kids serve as the inspiration for the book, which captures the 'chaos' on her farm. She said: 'They are the stories, it encompasses everything on the farm and wouldn't be possible without the chaos of the children.'
When asked if her children had read the book, Amanda shared a video message they sent her: 'Happy publication day,' they said, before launching the book across the yard towards a goat that had got into one of their sandwich boxes. She described the gesture as 'brutal' but light-hearted.
The book is the first of seven children's titles Amanda plans to publish with Puffin. She has already written five adult books, with her latest, 'Celebrating The Seasons', published in 2021. Amanda expressed her delight at joining the Puffin family, saying: 'As a mother myself, I know firsthand the joy that books can bring to young readers.'
