Readers slam Burnham's cost of living tour

Daily Star readers have hit out at Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham's announced tour of the country to hear concerns about the cost of living, branding it a waste of time and money.

Criticism of the tour

One reader, Pomfretian, suggested Burnham should instead investigate heating oil suppliers, claiming they profiteered after oil prices spiked following tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. The reader argued: "You don’t need to tour country every man and his dog knows what’s wrong."

Another reader, GRUMPY OLD MAN, complained about the cost of train tickets and hotels for Burnham's family to travel from Manchester to London, and suggested he read the papers, including Text Maniacs, to get public views.
