Australian television personality Rob Mills found himself in a deeply awkward situation while hosting a major industry event in Brisbane last weekend.
An On-Stage Misunderstanding
The incident unfolded at the Adult Industry Choice Awards on Sunday night. The 43-year-old host was joined on stage by the cast of the YouTube reality series Spicy Summer to promote their new show.
During the segment, performer Arabella Mia lifted her dress, revealing her underwear which had the word 'power' written across it to the audience. Mills appeared visibly shocked by the reveal.
In a moment of quick-thinking, perhaps fearing a wardrobe malfunction, Mills promptly grabbed Arabella and escorted her off the stage. It was only afterwards that he realised his mistake – Arabella was in fact wearing underwear the entire time.
Laughter After the Fact
The pair later joked about the hilarious misunderstanding once the initial panic had subsided. The event, held in Brisbane, continued without further hiccups, but the moment quickly became a talking point.
This on-stage blunder comes shortly after Mills offered a rare glimpse into his personal life with fiancée Georgie Tunny.
Insights into a Long-Distance Love
Mills recently told Women's Weekly that he first noticed Tunny in 2018 while she was hosting a television show. "I was watching the television one morning and saw this very charming, smart, funny, beautiful, woman talking about sport," he recalled. His immediate reaction was to Google "Who is the ABC sports girl" to find her.
After connecting online and chatting for three months, Mills invited Tunny to see him in the stage show Puffs. The couple got engaged on New Year's Eve in 2021.
However, maintaining their relationship has presented challenges. Both have demanding careers, leading to a long-distance dynamic they are still navigating. Tunny spoke to Who magazine in 2023 about the difficulties.
"We're both still learning how to do [long-distance]," she admitted. "We both lead independent lives and for the majority of our lives we've always put career first so we are both still learning to prioritise us."
Although they share a home in Melbourne, Mills's work has kept him travelling extensively over the past year.
Rob Mills rose to fame as a contestant on Australian Idol in 2003. Georgie Tunny has built her career in broadcast journalism, having worked on ABC's News Breakfast and previously co-hosted The Project.
