Celebrity Traitors: Miranda Hart Vomits Live as Two Stars Exit
Traitors: Miranda Hart Vomits Live, Two Celebs Exit

Celebrity Traitors lost two major stars and made one comedy legend vomit live on TV during one of the toughest ever episodes of the hit BBC show.

Two Faithfuls Leave the Castle

Last Of Us star Bella Ramsey was the first to be murdered on Friday night’s show, casting confusion and suspicion across the remaining cast. Coronation Street Faithful Julie Hesmondhalgh found herself under the microscope and ultimately banished at the next Round Table, as real traitor Professor Hannah Fry clung on by the skin of her teeth with just a couple of votes fewer.

Julie described the experience as "challenging, bonkers and delightful" and, although gutted to leave, said catching traitor Richard E Grant earlier in the series had been the thrill of a lifetime. The 56-year-old explained: "It was the best feeling; I cannot begin to tell you how incredible that feeling is. Right up there with marriage and childbirth!"

Fellow actor Bella feared they had been too dangerous to remain in the Scottish castle for much longer: "It’s a clever move...I think the Traitors killed me off because they knew that I was maybe going to get to the bottom of things."

Gruesome Cabin Mission

However, the most dramatic moment came during an elaborate mission at a spooky cabin in the woods. Celebrities had to communicate with four ghostly spirits to find objects hidden around the haunted shack. One of the items was a necklace lost down a gruesome looking toilet which smelt as bad as it looked. Comedian Joe Lycett screamed: "It does actually smell of poo!"

A number of the celebs began retching, and singer Leigh-Anne called it a "gagfest" as she got involved too. Heartstopper star Sebastian Croft volunteered to climb into the toilet to retrieve the treasure, caked in what looked like faeces. Tough guy Ross Kemp tried rallying the troops who were doubled over: "It’s just a little bit of poo, it’s not going to kill you."

But the sight and smell was too much for Miranda Hart, who proceeded to be sick. Apologising, she warned the team: "I literally vomited in that toilet!" Julie, who was also gagging, admitted their reaction was not fake: "It really, genuinely smelt like s***, to the point where people were retching and Miranda was actually sick!"

Second Round of Retching

However, the gagfest was not over as the celebs also had to identify a spicy flavoured drink from dozens of rotten old bottles, which sparked a second round of retching. Close to tears, comedian Joanne McNally described the taste as "salty bin juice".

Having successfully found three of the four hidden items, the celebs returned to the Round Table where suspicion began mounting on Julie for refusing to divulge Bella’s theories on who might be a Traitor. The former Corrie star, who played Hayley Cropper on the Cobbles between 1998 and 2014, admitted she looked guilty: "I lost any ability to defend myself! At one point my mouth dried up to absolutely nothing. I had no spit left, and I had to take a big glass of water and my hand was shaking a bit which is the worst thing you can do and I knew I looked really guilty. It was text book guilt!"

Cliffhanger Twist

Celebrity Traitors ended on a cliffhanger as, instead of the usual murder, the Traitors chose four players - Romesh Ranganathan, Leigh-Anne-Pinnock, Rob Beckett and Ross Kemp - to play a game of hide and seek in the woods. The celebs would shelter in crypts while the Traitors decide which one to murder in plain sight. However, there’s a twist as Little Mix star Leigh-Anne has a key to lock the crypt and keep herself safe.

Also in Friday's show, supermodel Jerry Hall revealed how she snared Mick Jagger. The Rolling Stones legend was with the catwalk icon for over 20 years, and Jerry wanted a ring on her finger. She revealed in the Traitors castle: "Before I got married to Mick we'd already been together seven years, had two children. I like put on a wedding dress every day until he agreed that we get married. I was so funny." They eventually had a traditional Hindu wedding in Bali in 1990. However, when they split in 1999, a London High Court declared the Balinese ceremony legally invalid because it wasn’t registered.
