Prince Harry was booed as he sat in his seat to watch a game of rugby in Leicester. The Duke of Sussex only recently relocated back home to the UK after spending years in the US with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children.
Mixed reception at Welford Road
Harry is known for being a passionate fan of the sport, yet as he visited Welford Road to watch the game against Gloucester, he was greeted by a mixed reception from fellow fans. He was seen taking his seat in the stands while drinking a beer when he was shown on the big screen and met by the frosty response, Leicestershire Live reports.
Extended stay in Britain
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in Britain in late August, bringing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet back from the US for what is expected to be an extended stay. Since their arrival on August 26, the couple has been establishing a new base outside of London, with their children enrolling in British schools for the autumn term.
While they retain their home in California and remain non-working royals, Harry has recently been making a handful of public appearances and has now been spotted in Leicester. Having previously served as the patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) - a role now held by the Princess of Wales - he has remained an ardent supporter of the game.
