Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left stunned by a surprise appearance during the long-awaited Icons Week. Saturday's (October 17) live show saw the contestants paying tribute to legendary recording artists from David Bowie to Mariah Carey and Elton John.
Judges join the fun
The judges also joined in on the fun as Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood transformed into Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher. Meanwhile, Shirley donned her best Lady Gaga costume and Motsi dressed up as Beyonce.
But it was Dame Sarah Storey and Julian Caillon's dance routine, inspired by Shania Twain, that stole the show for viewers at home. After performing the Tango to That Don't Impress Me Much by the superstar singer, the couple headed upstairs to chat with host Johannes Radebe - not knowing there was a huge surprise waiting for them.
Shania's sweet message
Before asking for the judges' scores, Johannes unveiled a sweet video message from the real Shania Twain. In the clip, she said: "Hello, Sarah and Julian. I hear you're dancing the Tango to 'That Don't Impress Me Much.' I wanted to wish you both all the luck in the world. And I hope you impress those judges, I know you will. And who knows? Maybe you can come and show me those tango moves in person at one of my UK shows very soon. Let's go, girls."
The duo were completely floored by the message as Julian exclaimed "she knows who we are!". Fans were just as stunned by the cameo, as one person posted: "No way!!" Another viewer raved: "OMG SHANIA!! I thought there'd be one Icon message but never Shania! Diva." While a third person added: "Shaniaaaaa what a queen."
More icons to come
Yet another thrilled fan said: "WHAT THE F***," with a final viewer adding: "We got actual Shania!!!". Even more icons will be honoured in Sunday's (October 18) results show, with two special female artists receiving all the attention.
Fans can look forward to a special tribute to the late Dolly Parton as singer Belles covers Jolene in the Strictly ballroom, accompanied by a performance from Amy Dowden and Kai Widdrington. The pros will also strike a pose as they delve into queen of pop Madonna's back catalogue for their latest group number. Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
