Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has confirmed she will return to the show after a health scare that saw her rushed to hospital over the weekend. The 65-year-old struck her head on a glass dressing table at home, requiring a brain scan, and has since been recovering from the fall.
In an update on Instagram, Ballas said she was grateful to have avoided a fractured skull and thanked fans for their support. She described her injuries, stating: "The spine, the back, the lower back, the knee, the ankle, everything hurts." She visited a physiotherapist to check her spine and was advised to rest for three days.
Ballas warned fans to be cautious about sitting on stools with cushions, as this led to her accident. She plans to demonstrate what happened to prevent others from similar falls. "We need to be careful. I had a little cushion on there and I slipped off it," she explained.
The BBC star said she feels "much better" and expects to be "right as rain" within 72 hours. She expressed gratitude to medical staff, doctors, and friends who supported her during the ordeal. Strictly Come Dancing continues to air on BBC iPlayer.
