The BBC has confirmed that Sam Mitchell will make a dramatic return to Albert Square this December, portrayed once again by actress Kim Medcalf. This marks the character's comeback just two years after her departure for Spain in 2023, following her own long-awaited return to the soap after a seven-year absence from our screens since 2016.

The statement highlighted one particularly significant change: Zoe Slater, Sam's former enemy and ex-murder accomplice, now resides in the Square. The two women haven't encountered each other for over two decades, setting the stage for potentially explosive confrontations.

Zoe never faced legal consequences for her involvement in Den Watts' murder, for which Sam initially took the blame.
