Rylan Clark tipped for Strictly Come Dancing host role as BBC seeks ratings winner

Rylan Clark is reportedly in the running to become a new host of Strictly Come Dancing, with insiders describing him as a potential ratings winner for the BBC show.

The 37-year-old presenter is among the names being considered to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who stepped down after the previous series, ending runs of 21 and 15 years respectively.

A source told the Mirror: 'He has so many loyal fans. If he gets the job they will most certainly tune in to Strictly. He will be a ratings winner and the BBC know it.'

Rylan could potentially partner with The One Show presenter Angela Scanlon, who is also reportedly being considered. The duo would bring strong on-screen chemistry and a fresh direction, according to sources cited by the Daily Mail.

Rylan, who presented Strictly spin-off It Takes Two between 2019 and 2023, is said to view the role as his 'dream job'. He must still undergo screen tests in April to evaluate his rapport with potential co-presenters.

Other candidates include Alex Jones, Zoe Ball, Bradley Walsh and professional dancer Johannes Radebe. Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn.
