Peter Andre Explains Why He Skipped Katie Price Doc

Peter Andre has released a statement explaining why he did not take part in Katie Price's new documentary series, Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, which premiered on Sky. The four-part series, produced by Louis Theroux's Mindhouse production company, is described as an “archive-led retrospective” that explores Katie's personal life and career.

Peter Andre's Statement

Andre, who was married to Price from 2005 to 2009, shared a statement that appears at the end of the third episode. He said: “I have chosen not to speak publicly about these matters out of love and respect for Junior and Princess. Today Katie and I maintain an amicable relationship in the interests of our children. I sincerely wish her happiness and peace for the future.”

Their children, Junior (21) and Princess (19), did participate in the documentary and spoke emotionally about their childhood and their mother's struggles with drug addiction.

Children's Emotional Testimony

Junior recalled a distressing memory: “I remember missing her so much. This one time in particular, I was in her bed waiting for her to come back, and I woke up probably 3.30am to some loud noises, and I see her come in the room, and I'll never forget the look on her face, she was obviously on stuff, right? I could see it in her eyes, and it scared me, because I've never seen my mum look like that. She's there, but she's not there, you know.”

Princess described how she coped: “She'd give me a blanket, and she sprayed all her perfume on it, and that was like that was my attachment to mum. So I remember after school I used to go home and just feel so like lonely in a way. I used to just cuddle to the blanket and just cry.” She added: “I stayed. I always wanted to be there for her, and I always wanted to show her that, like, she has me, she has us, but she didn't understand that at the time, because she was so hooked up in her own problems.”

The siblings also revealed they learned to fend for themselves, including making microwave meals and “looking after each other”.

Katie's Reflection on Drug Use

In the documentary, Katie Price spoke about her drug use: “It was the only thing that blocked everything out. It will take out that pain, it will take out any worry, it will take out the noise. When I hear what the kids, how they saw it, it breaks my heart. But they were still always looked after, I still had people around me looking after them, like helping me.”

The series also features interviews with other ex-partners, including Gary Bollingbrooke, Dane Bowers, and Gareth Gates. Sky said the documentary “brings a documentary lens to Katie’s story, combining extraordinary unseen footage with first-time, candid testimony from those closest to Katie – family, friends, professional and personal relationships, and those who have entered her orbit over the past three decades.”
