Oasis's Wonderwall has stormed to No2 on the Official Singles Chart following England's World Cup campaign, matching its original peak from 31 years ago. The Britpop classic, now embraced as an unofficial England anthem, climbs nine places after being sung by players and fans after every England victory during the tournament. According to the Official Charts Company, Wonderwall remains the biggest British single never to reach No1, with 5.6 million chart units sold to date.
Football Anthems Flood Top 5
Four football-related tracks now occupy the Top 5. Three Lions (Football's Coming Home) by Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds roars back into the Top 10, up 18 places to No3. The official FIFA World Cup 2026 single, Dai Dai by Shakira and Burna Boy, breaks into the Top 5 for the first time at No5. Shakira's 2010 World Cup anthem Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) also surges to its highest position since 2010, landing at No26.
ANOTR and Viral Dance Hit
Dutch dance duo ANOTR achieve a personal best with Talk To You ft. 54 Ultra, climbing 10 places to No4. The track's rise follows a viral video of England defender John Stones dancing to it, which exploded online.
Sam Fender and Olivia Dean Extend Reign
Rein Me In by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean holds the top spot for a 17th non-consecutive week, overtaking Bryan Adams' 16-week run with (Everything I Do) I Do It For You from 1991. The song is now just one week away from equaling the record for most weeks at No1, held by Frankie Laine's 1953 hit I Believe, and two weeks from breaking the all-time record.
