Oasis Reunion 2025: 41 Shows, 14 Million Ticket Applications, and a Manchester Homecoming
Oasis Reunion 2025: 41 Shows, 14M Ticket Apps, Manchester Homecoming

Oasis Live '25, the long-awaited reunion of Liam and Noel Gallagher, became the highest-demand concert tour in British music history, with 2.6 million people applying for tickets during the initial on-sale and an estimated 14 million from 158 countries vying for 1.4 million available spots—roughly ten fans per ticket.

Tour Statistics and Dynamic Pricing Controversy

The tour spanned 41 shows across five continents, 16 years after the band's breakup. However, dynamic pricing overshadowed the announcement, with prices surging from £148 to £355 as demand peaked. The UK's competition watchdog subsequently launched an investigation, leading to major changes in how fans are informed about pricing.

Manchester Homecoming

The five-night residency at Heaton Park from July 11–20, 2025, drew 340,000 fans. Noel Gallagher was photographed outside the Stock Exchange Hotel ahead of the gigs, and fans from Japan, Costa Rica, North America, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Ireland, Italy, and Australia traveled to Manchester for the event.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) deployed extra trams and later services to accommodate the city's record 1.3 million tourists that summer.

Local Business Impact

Paul Gallagher, owner of the Definitely Maybe bar on Church Street, said: “It was wild, like nothing else I’ve seen before. The energy the night before too.” The bar hosted tribute acts, tattoo pop-ups, and after-parties. “We had guests from overseas... It was great to see every demographic represented, and you would get a group of 20-year-olds all the way from Peru or New Zealand.”

The Ostrich pub on Bury Old Road, managed by Julie and Jay, became an unexpected hub. Its 750-capacity beer garden, where fans could hear the concert, raised £10,000 for charity. Julie recalled a fan saying, “I said ‘oh well it’s a party you’ve got to roll with it’ and he looked at me and said ‘don’t look back in anger’.” Jay added: “It’s put the pub on the map.”

Gallagher Hill and Cultural Legacy

During the penultimate show, thousands of ticketless fans gathered on a hill near Heaton Park, dubbed Gallagher Hill, for a mass singalong. The spontaneous gathering, despite a council ban, epitomized Mancunian support for the band. Fans even wore free Gallagher Hill t-shirts during the final show before the tour moved to Wembley.

The concerts also featured Liam Gallagher's expletive-laden banter, tributes to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and the Royle Family cast, and fireworks during Champagne Supernova. The setlist opened with Hello and Acquiesce, and included a punchy rendition of Morning Glory.

Paul Gallagher concluded: “The Stone Roses, United and City doing the treble, I don’t think anything can top Oasis at Heaton Park. There was a sense of pride in Manchester too. We were on show and we got to show the world what we’re about.”
