John McEnroe had to leave the BBC's Wimbledon coverage mid-programme for the second time during the tournament, while co-pundit Andre Agassi inadvertently swore live on air. The incidents occurred during the men's semi-finals day broadcast on Friday, July 10, 2026.
McEnroe's Second Walkout
Earlier in the tournament, the seven-time Grand Slam singles champion had to exit the BBC commentary box to call a match for American broadcasters. On semi-finals day, while in the studio to discuss British wildcard Arthur Fery's defeat to No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev, McEnroe again had to leave in the middle of the segment. He was seated alongside presenter Clare Balding and fellow retired stars Andre Agassi and Tim Henman.
Agassi's Swear Word
During the broadcast, Agassi swore live on air while commenting on seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic. The expletive went unnoticed by the other pundits and Balding. According to the Daily Express, the incident added to the chaotic atmosphere of the day's coverage.
The BBC has not yet commented on either incident. McEnroe's walkout and Agassi's language have sparked discussion among viewers, with some calling for tighter control of live broadcasts.
