Maya Jama, the host of ITV's Love Island and its spin-off Love Island Games, earned £2.5 million last year, cementing her status as one of the UK's most sought-after television presenters. The 30-year-old also hosted the BRIT Awards and Comic Relief this year, and was recently announced as a panellist on the next series of The Masked Singer.
In addition to her TV work, Maya makes a substantial income from lucrative advertising deals with brands including McDonald's, Rimmel London, and Dolce & Gabbana. Her company accounts reveal she has invested £407,000 of her wealth, holds £1.3 million in cash, and is owed £630,000 by debtors. After settling bills, she retains over £1.8 million in reserves.
Maya paid a corporation tax bill of £493,000, indicating a taxable income of around £2.5 million. This represents a significant jump from the previous year's tax payment of £128,950. The assets in her business rose from £1.6 million last year to £2.35 million this year. Despite her success, she valued herself at just £10,000 in the company's goodwill.
The savvy businesswoman recently invested in the plant milk brand Sproud, becoming a co-owner and strategic adviser. She said: 'I'm really excited to become a co-owner of Sproud. The products taste amazing, and the packaging is eye-catching, too, but ultimately I like what the company stands for in terms of health and sustainability.'
This week, Maya was named 15th in Heat magazine's annual 30 under 30 Rich List, with an estimated fortune of £8.1 million. Despite her split from long-term partner Stormzy in July, her TV career continues to flourish.
