A Festive Reunion Two Decades in the Making
Fans of the beloved Christmas film Love Actually were treated to a heartwarming dose of nostalgia as two of its stars, Martine McCutcheon and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, reunited for a new project. The pair were spotted filming a festive advertisement for Google Pixel on London's South Bank, more than two decades after the iconic rom-com's 2003 release.
Recapturing the Magic on Set
The filming location was transformed into a snow-covered wonderland, creating the perfect festive backdrop. In a move sure to delight fans, Martine McCutcheon, 49, was seen wearing the very same red coat her character, Downing Street tea lady Natalie, made famous in the original film. Her co-star, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, now 35, who played the lovelorn young Sam, joined her on set. Brodie-Sangster is now married to actress Talulah Riley, the former wife of billionaire Elon Musk.
Behind the Scenes: Not All Warmth and Cheer
While the set looked magical, sources from the filming suggest that the atmosphere wasn't entirely festive. Insiders reported that McCutcheon was 'not exactly warm' to those working with her. One source elaborated, stating, 'Martine has a reputation for not being the friendliest – she wasn’t during the filming 22 years ago and not much has changed since.'
This reunion comes during a challenging period for McCutcheon. In July, the actress was declared bankrupt for the second time, just months after splitting from her husband, Jack McManus. Official public records show she filed a petition for insolvency over a debt to a finance company. This follows her first bankruptcy in 2013, after she reportedly accumulated £187,000 of debt.
Despite the personal and on-set challenges, the new Google Pixel advert, set to air later this month, promises to be a nostalgic treat for the legion of fans who hold the 2003 classic dear.
