Reality television star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian has launched a defiant response to critics panning her new legal drama All's Fair, taking to social media to both acknowledge and mock the show's most brutal reviews.
Social Media Clapback
The 45-year-old shared a series of posts on Instagram following the show's premiere this week, beginning with a photograph of herself in a purple fur-trimmed crop top before posting a picture with series creator Ryan Murphy. She then bravely shared a screenshot displaying the programme's Rotten Tomatoes rating at 0%, pairing it with a supporter's tweet that read: "Immediately pressed play."
Kardashian continued her social media defence by uploading another tweet that declared: "Some of the worst acting I've ever seen in my life alongside the most predictable storylines and the most ridiculous styling. I'm obsessed, I need 14 seasons. #AllsFair." She also featured screenshots of critiques from The Hollywood Reporter and the BBC, demonstrating she wasn't shying away from the negative press.
Cast and Crew Stand Together
The Hulu series, crafted by television maestro Ryan Murphy, features an impressive ensemble cast including Glenn Close, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts and Teyana Taylor. The storyline centres on a group of women who abandon a male-dominated law firm to establish their own practice.
Kim shared an image of herself laughing with Murphy and her fellow cast members, highlighting the camaraderie on set. Her co-star Glenn Close also joined the fray, sharing a sketch of the cast alongside a pot labelled "Critic-Bunny Stew" – a cheeky reference to her infamous role in Fatal Attraction where her character boiled a pet rabbit alive.
Director and executive producer Anthony Hemingway has stood by the programme in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, remarking: "You're not going to please everybody. You may have certain criticisms, while there are a million others who love it. I think the show holds a mirror up to each person who watches it."
Behind the Scenes Revelations
Speaking to People magazine ahead of the show's launch, Sarah Paulson revealed: "I had the best time, I really did." Glenn Close added an amusing behind-the-scenes detail, noting that "Sarah and Kim sometimes could not look at each other without laughing" during filming.
The post concluded with Kim spotlighting more favourable reviews and captioning the snaps: "Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year! ? ! ? ! ? All's Fair streaming now on @hulu and @disneyplus."
Fresh episodes of All's Fair continue to drop every Tuesday on Hulu until 23 December, giving viewers plenty of time to form their own opinions about the controversial legal drama.
