Kelvin Fletcher Eyes Farm Return After Devastating Fire: 'Light at the End of the Tunnel'
Kelvin Fletcher Sees 'Light' After Farmhouse Fire

Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has said he can finally see a 'light at the end of the tunnel' months after a devastating fire ripped through his family's Peak District farmhouse.

A Family's Mission to Return Home

Fletcher, his wife Liz, and their four young children have been living in temporary accommodation since the blaze, which he described as 'the stuff of nightmares'. The fire occurred while the family was away from their property.

In the latest episode of their ITV documentary series, Fletchers' Family Farm, which aired on Sunday, 7 December 2025, the couple revealed their determined plan to get back onto their land. With renovations to the main farmhouse yet to begin, they are exploring the possibility of erecting a temporary lodge on the grounds.

'Desperate' to Be Back on the Farm

'We're desperate to get back on the farm,' Kelvin explained in the show. 'Think about the farm every minute of every day. It's just weird not being there.' He expressed a constant sense of worry and said that being away simply didn't feel the same for the family.

Liz Fletcher echoed the sentiment, calling it a 'funny time for everyone'. She added, 'We just have to go through it as it happens, I guess. We're just so grateful that we get to have temporary accommodation and the plan is to rebuild the house, be back in, and it'll just be a story to tell.'

Planning a Temporary Solution

The couple took proactive steps by meeting with a builder who specialises in lodges and cabins. Their goal is to create a workable temporary home on the farm to live in while the lengthy farmhouse restoration is completed.

After discussing the practicalities and formulating a plan, Kelvin's relief was palpable. 'For me, the lodge can't come soon enough,' he stated. 'After months of uncertainty, it's exciting to be making plans to get the family back on the farm.'

He concluded with renewed optimism, saying, 'Definitely feels like there's light at the end of the tunnel, and the countdown to being back on the farm can begin.' The family has been documenting their rural life on the ITV series since 2023.
