HGTV Axes Bachelor Mansion Renovation Show After One Season

HGTV has cancelled its new crossover series 'Bachelor Mansion Takeover' after just one season, leaving fans baffled. The network had previously axed several popular shows including Bargain Block, Married to Real Estate, and Farmhouse Fixer earlier this year.

The six-episode series, which premiered in 2026, brought 12 former Bachelor, Bachelorette, Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelorette contestants back to the mansion for a dramatic makeover. Hosted by Jesse Palmer, the show featured judges Tayshia Adams and Tyler Cameron evaluating transformed spaces with guest judges.

Contestants included Dean Bell, Jill Chin, Noah Erb, Allyshia Gupta, Tammy Ly, Sandra Mason, Sam McKinney, Brendan Morais, Courtney Robertson Preciado, Jeremy Simon, Christopher Stallworth and Joan Vassos. The winner received a $100,000 cash prize.

Social media reaction has been mixed, with some fans criticising the network for cancelling beloved shows in favour of this crossover. One Reddit user commented: 'So all those shows got cancelled and we're getting... THIS?' Another added: 'This kind of stuff is what you canceled our favorite shows for?'

HGTV's Chief Creative Officer Howard Lee had previously expressed excitement about the project, stating: 'When we learned the Bachelor Mansion needed a serious makeover, we knew only HGTV could give the iconic property a renovation worthy of the name.' Despite this, the show has not been renewed for a second season.
