Paul Hollywood, the celebrity chef and Great British Bake Off judge, earned over £14 million in 2023, according to figures filed at Companies House. The 58-year-old, who has been a judge on the show since 2010, now earns more than £270,000 per week, a salary comparable to top footballers.
HJP Media, the company owned by Hollywood, reported an additional £1.14 million in profit for the same financial year, with £4 million coming from assets. His brand has expanded across British and international television, book deals, and supermarket products, including a range of breads sold at Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
In addition to Bake Off, Hollywood has fronted shows such as Paul Hollywood Eats Mexico, Paul Hollywood Eats Japan, and The Big Continental Road Trip. He has published 11 cookbooks since 2004, many of which have topped UK bestseller lists.
Hollywood was made an MBE in April 2024 by Princess Anne at Windsor Castle. He told the Press Association that the Princess said baking is 'integral to the DNA of us all' and that she loves the smell of baking. He promised to send her Chelsea buns, which she is particularly fond of.
The future of Bake Off on Channel 4 has been secured after Love Productions decided to stay with the channel, easing fears that the show might move to a streaming service. The show originally started on the BBC in 2010 before moving to Channel 4 in 2017.
