Fred Sirieix makes acting debut in Love Actually parody

First Dates star Fred Sirieix is swapping the restaurant floor for the silver screen this Christmas, making his acting debut in a series of playful romantic comedy parodies. The renowned maître d'hôtel is bringing his signature charm to re-enactments of the nation's most beloved festive film moments.

Nation's Favourite Festive Films Revealed

A poll of 2,000 adults uncovered Britain's top festive romantic movies, with Love Actually, The Holiday, and Bridget Jones's Diary claiming the crown. The research also revealed the most romantic scene of all time was a tie between the iconic cue-card declaration from Love Actually and the snowy kiss between Bridget and Mark in Bridget Jones's Diary.

Inspired by these findings, Fred Sirieix has stepped in front of the camera for the "From Com" series, where his favourite French cheese, Boursin, plays a central role in the romantic recreations.

Fred Sirieix on Festive Food and Romance

Commenting on his new venture, Fred expressed his delight. "Re-creating these iconic scenes was such a joy because, for me, Christmas is all about romance, laughter, and gathering around great food," he said.

"Whether it's a small gesture or a grand declaration of love, the magic happens when we come together and share something delicious. There are a few things for me that are truly unmissable at Christmas: love, good company, and a cheeseboard."

He elaborated on the French approach to festivities, adding: "When the cooking is done and everyone is cosy with a film, that's when the French way takes over: simple pleasures, indulgent flavours, and moments made to be shared. C'est ça, Noël."

Christmas Traditions and Hosting Tips

The research highlighted the UK's cherished Christmas habits. While 48% of people consider Christmas Day dinner the most important tradition, over a quarter prefer to end the evening by sharing a cheese board with family.

Furthermore, nearly four in 10 adults prefer hosting Christmas in their own homes, valuing the opportunity to have all their loved ones together and enjoy food prepared with heart and soul.

A spokesperson for Boursin commented: "Our research shows that food and film are two of the UK's most cherished Christmas traditions. So, this year we wanted to bring them together in a fresh, playful way."

Fred Sirieix shared his own hosting advice, aligning with the poll's top tips which included 'always make every meal with love'. "The festive season is about spending time with your guests, not in the kitchen," Fred advised. "One of my top tips is to do as much preparation as you can. Lean into casual French luxury... Use flavourful ingredients like Boursin to turn something simple into something special."
