Fox Host Lawrence Jones Returns After Eye Surgery

Fox and Friends co-host Lawrence Jones has reassured fans that he will be back on the air soon after undergoing eye surgery. The 30-year-old broadcaster, who has been absent from the morning show, revealed on social media earlier this week that he had the procedure and is recovering well.

Speaking on Friday's episode of Fox and Friends, Jones explained that he had suffered from eye issues his entire life but only saw a specialist after a friend's wife urged him to do so. He learned that his retina had become detached, a condition he described as genetic, and underwent surgery. 'Everything went well,' he said.

Jones noted that while doctors initially expected him to return to work the Monday after the procedure, swelling in his eye delayed his comeback. 'They didn't make the connection that I was on TV,' he joked. 'There is some swelling. My eye isn't quite open. But I'm healing fast.'

The host detailed that the detached retina meant he was 'slowly going blind,' but the tear was so small it went undetected for years. He added that since the reattachment surgery, his vision has improved. Jones declined to give a specific return date, saying he did not want to disappoint viewers if complications arose.

Jones joined Fox in 2018 and became a permanent co-host of Fox and Friends in September 2023, making him the youngest Black co-host on cable news. He hosts alongside Brian Kilmeade and Ainsley Earhardt from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Eastern. Fans and colleagues, including Dan Bongino and Scott Presler, have shared well-wishes for his recovery.
