Apprentice's Fifth Candidate Fired as Big Zuu Guest Stars in Water Brand Task
Fifth Apprentice Candidate Fired, Big Zuu Makes Guest Appearance

The latest episode of BBC's business competition show The Apprentice saw the fifth candidate eliminated this series, following a challenging task focused on creating and marketing a new bottled water brand. Aberdeen-based pharmacist Roxanne Hamedi was fired by Lord Sugar, who held her directly responsible for her team's poor branding decisions during the high-pressure challenge.

Branding Blunders Lead to Boardroom Dismissal

As the sub-team leader for branding elements, Hamedi expressed her disappointment at being fired, stating she felt "like my time was cut short" in the competition. The episode required candidates to develop complete water brands, sell their products live on social media platforms, and produce accompanying television advertisements to showcase their marketing prowess.

Guest Judge Appearance and Team Dynamics

Rapper Big Zuu made a special guest appearance during the episode, assisting Lord Sugar in evaluating the candidates' creative work and business presentations. The celebrity cameo added an extra layer of scrutiny to the already intense competition environment.

Lord Sugar ultimately attributed the team's branding failures to Hamedi's leadership decisions, resulting in her exit from the BBC business show. She found herself in the firing line alongside team leader Conor Galvin and pharmaceutical sales specialist Rajan Gill, who was brought into the final boardroom session following a particularly disastrous sales pitch presentation.

Hamedi's Post-Firing Reflections

"It didn't feel good to be fired, just because I didn't think that I deserved to be," Hamedi revealed after her elimination. "There was a lot going on that day and I feel like other people lacked accountability."

The pharmacist explained she had taken on the sub-team leader role specifically to "get out of my comfort zone and take that risk," adding: "I don't regret being a sub-team lead, but I just feel like my time was cut short in the process."

Controversial Boardroom Dynamics

Hamedi expressed her belief that Galvin should have been fired instead, stating: "I feel like he did throw me under the bus because I was just an easy scapegoat." When asked if she would have approached the boardroom confrontation differently, she acknowledged: "I guess I could have fought more in the boardroom, you know, called Rajan out on his lack of input, or reminded Lord Sugar that I'd taken creative risks and didn't hide in the background."

However, she maintained her professional integrity, explaining: "But I didn't want it to come down to begging or being the loudest or most apologetic person in the room. I stayed true to myself and that takes integrity."

Business Ambitions Beyond The Apprentice

Had she won the competition, Hamedi revealed she would have expanded her existing beauty business, which specialises in developing products to combat hair loss through scientific formulations. The winner of this latest series of The Apprentice will receive £250,000 of investment into their company alongside the valuable opportunity to establish a business partnership with Lord Sugar himself.

The Apprentice continues its current series on BBC One, returning next Thursday at 9pm with another challenging business task for the remaining candidates. The show maintains its format of testing entrepreneurial skills through practical business challenges, with guest appearances from notable business and entertainment figures adding variety to the judging process.
