EastEnders: Junior Knight Secures Kojo's Safety Before Dramatic Exit

Junior Knight has made a swift departure from Albert Square in the latest episode of EastEnders, but not before intervening to protect his uncle Kojo Asare from potential danger. The character, played by Micah Balfour, accepted a job in Dubai to be closer to his son Xavier and ex-wife Monique, a decision that was confirmed earlier in the week.

In Thursday's episode, Junior revealed he had already signed the contract and was leaving imminently. However, his father George was preoccupied with concerns for Kojo, who had been held at knifepoint by drug dealer Okie Okyere. Although Okie is now dead after being accidentally stabbed by Harry Mitchell, his contacts in London's drug underworld could still pose a threat to Kojo.

George's brother Kobina was pressuring Kojo to return to Ghana for his safety, and George was beginning to think it might be for the best. But Junior recognised that Kojo had built a new life in Walford and wanted to ensure he could stay. Without George's knowledge, Junior visited Ravi Gulati, who ran the drugs operation, and asked him to guarantee Kojo's safety, offering to mend family relations as an incentive.

Junior packed his bags and received a fond farewell from the Knight family and market traders. Before leaving, he handed over his car keys to Kojo as a final gift. With Junior gone, life seemed to return to normal, but at No. 1, Nicola Mitchell found Harry in a near-comatose state after overdosing and frantically called emergency services.
