Dianne Buswell was heard telling her Strictly Come Dancing partner Will Best "We did it for Sonny!" as their latest routine came to an end on the BBC One dance show.
The moment was captured on the dance floor after the pair performed a jive to Sir Elton John's Crocodile Rock during Icons Week in week four of Strictly's 2026 series, earning them 31 points.
Will, who hosts Big Brother, had announced the birth of his son, Sonny Best, just before the show. He shared a carousel of photos on Instagram showing himself and his fiancée, Tobi Rose, cradling their newborn, along with a picture of Sonny in a car seat carrier covered with a pastel yellow blanket embroidered with the word "lovely".
Will's Emotional Instagram Announcement
In the caption, Will wrote: "Well who do we have here then?! Welcome to the world Sonny Best, you little smasher. @tobiroseofficial you’re a miracle and I love you so much. A couple of tired new parents (see last slide) but oh my goodness aren’t we lucky."
Ahead of their performance, Dianne and Will were seen bonding emotionally over parenthood in their VT. Dianne told Will: "You will feel tired, but it's like a magical tired. You're tired from the exhaustion of loving them so much."
Will then admitted: "I'm going to get emotional," as he went on to praise Dianne, saying: "You're inspirational. You are doing all of this, and you've got a baby and clearly the most amazing mum, so I want to try and learn from you."
Dance Floor Reaction and Gifts
As she wiped away tears, the 37-year-old responded: "Well, you're going to be the most amazing dad and all I can say is we can do it together."
In the clip from the dance floor, the mic'd-up stars were heard as their routine ended, with Dianne declaring: "We did it for Sonny!" As they embraced, Will said: "We did it!" while a delighted Dianne shouted: "Sonny!"
Will was also presented with a onesie reading 'Tiny Dancer', referencing both his Strictly gig and Sir Elton's hit song, for his newborn, as his co-stars helped him celebrate his new arrival.
