Coronation Street fans have cast their final verdict on who killed Theo Silverton, with a Manchester Evening News poll revealing that 42% of voters believe the murderer is not among the six official suspects. The builder's death in April sparked a whodunnit that will finally be resolved in a special flashback episode airing on Monday, June 22.
Poll Results Show Strong Fan Conviction
The poll, which ran for months ahead of the reveal, saw over 23% of respondents point to Theo's ex-wife Danielle Silverton as the killer. Todd Grimshaw and George Shuttleworth received minimal support, with just 3% and 2% respectively. Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, and Gary Windass each garnered 10% of the vote, while the 'someone else' option dominated at 42%.
Viewers have speculated on social media about potential culprits such as Sarah Platt, whose secretive behaviour with Gary has raised suspicions, and Theo's son Miles, who made a mysterious return to Weatherfield before his father's death.
Flashback Episode to Unmask Killer
The hour-long episode on June 22 will feature a dinner party at Sarah and Kit Green's flat, interspersed with flashbacks to the night of Theo's murder. The scene opens with broken glass, an overturned chair, and blood on the tablecloth. Earlier in the day, Kit discovers Sarah has invited Todd and Summer for dinner, and he adds Gary and his wife Maria to the guest list.
Maria seizes the opportunity to accuse Sarah and Gary of having an affair, leading to chaos. As accusations fly, secrets are exposed through a series of flashbacks that ultimately reveal Theo's killer.
Suspects and Storyline Background
Theo Silverton was found dead by Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa's wedding to Carla Connor. His 13-month reign of abuse over Todd Grimshaw ended when his true colours were exposed. The murder investigation initially focused on Todd, George, Summer, Christina, Gary, and Danielle, with Summer even being charged before Tyrone Dobbs provided an alibi.
According to a Coronation Street spokesperson, "The dinner party descends into chaos, with a broken glass, an overturned chair and angry accusations thrown. Secrets and lies are exposed in a shocking series of flashbacks."
