Kensington Palace has released a new photograph of Prince William with his daughter, Princess Charlotte, to mark both his 44th birthday and Father's Day. The image, taken by royal photographer Matt Porteous, shows the future King with his arm around the 11-year-old princess in the garden of Kensington Palace, following last week's Trooping the Colour ceremony.
Personal Message from the Family
A handwritten note from the Princess of Wales and the couple's three children accompanies the photo. It reads: "Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L." The message includes a pink heart emoji. The photo does not feature Prince George, 12, or Prince Louis, seven.
Double Celebration for the Prince
This year, William's birthday coincides with Father's Day, offering a double celebration for the royal family. The family is expected to spend the day together. Additionally, William's favourite football team, Aston Villa, honoured the occasion by sharing a photo of the prince with manager Unai Emery following their Europa League victory last month.
King Charles Pays Tribute to His Father
Earlier on Sunday, King Charles marked Father's Day by sharing a throwback photograph of himself with his late father, Prince Philip. The image, taken on August 20, 1971, shows Philip standing proudly beside Charles after he received his wings at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire. At the time, Philip was Marshal of the Royal Air Force, an honour later bestowed on Charles by Queen Elizabeth II. A message accompanying the photo read: "Celebrating all Fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their Dads, today."
