Coronation Street: Debbie Blamed for Ruining Adam's Proposal
Corrie: Debbie Blamed for Ruining Adam's Proposal

Debbie Webster's dementia is exploited by a vengeful ex-prisoner, leading to her being blamed for ruining Adam Barlow's marriage proposal to Alya Nazir on Coronation Street.

Debbie (Sue Devaney) is struggling with her vascular dementia, which is rapidly declining and affecting her work at the Chariot Square Hotel and her marriage to Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan). Despite her condition, she is determined to carry on as normal, leaving employee and friend Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) to smooth over her mistakes.

Paula's Revenge Plot

Debbie's troubles are compounded by the return of Paula (Kelli Hollis), an unfriendly face from her prison days, who is seeking revenge for being thrown out of the Hotel bar. Paula's machinations target Adam's (Sam Robertson) proposal to Alya (Sair Khan), who have been together for almost two years.

After a tense reunion, Paula apologises to Debbie but remains unrepentant, listening with interest as Adam discusses his proposal plans with Debbie. Paula then plays on Debbie's confusion, convincing her that she is staying in room 108, unaware that Adam has booked it.

The Proposal Derailed

Debbie hands over the key to Paula, and Adam leads Alya into the hotel bedroom to propose, only to find the engagement ring missing. In reception, Adam confronts Debbie, blaming her for ruining his plans. Debbie realises with horror that she gave Paula the key to his room.

The proposal's fate remains uncertain as Debbie faces the fallout from her mistake.
