Livestream Debut
On Monday evening, as the last of the A-listers peacocked up the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Callahan - who, alongside her column, also hosts podcast The Nerve - launched a livestream to debrief the evening's looks. Alongside a guest panel comprised of celebrity makeup artist Tim MacKay, commentator Kinsey Schofield and showbiz reporter Rob Shuter, Callahan dissected the most viral looks of the evening, celebrated the stars who rose to the occasion - and who dared to name those who should have just stayed home.
Panel's Chopping Block
On the panelists' chopping block was none other than new Vogue editor Chloe Malle. Among those skewered was Vogue's new Head of Editorial Content Chloe Malle, who arrived on the museum's steps in a bright orange gown - which, according to Shuter, she had to get approved by her predecessor Anna Wintour in advance. As the panelists watched the red carpet playback, they let out a chorus of groans.
Wide-Ranging Critique
'Matronly' Malle, of course, was not the only one scrutinized in the wide-ranging livestream, during which the group also dished on the behind-the-scenes drama leading up the event and reminisced on Met Galas past. From Jeff Bezos skipping the red carpet to Blake Lively's surprise appearance - and the one star who looked more 'sex worker' than 'costume art' - Callahan and her crew dissected the good, the bad and the downright ugly of fashion's biggest night.
