Beckham Texts Evans During Live Radio Show Over Cowboy Hat

David Beckham hilariously texted Chris Evans during his Virgin Radio show after being teased over his cowboy hat. The former footballer celebrated his 51st birthday over the weekend at his £15 million Cotswolds farmhouse, with Victoria sharing a picture of him wearing the hat on Instagram.

The Funny Exchange

During Chris's Breakfast show, David contacted the radio host while doing his morning workout in the gym with Victoria. The amusing conversation happened during a discussion about cowboy hats ahead of Yellowstone's Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser coming on the show. Reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, the duo will lead a direct sequel to the original series, scheduled to premiere on Friday, 15 May.

Chris said: 'Becks, I didn't know you cowboy hatted it up… I wonder if Posh and Becks watch Yellowstone. Please tell me they do… Shall I text him? I'll text him and ask him.' But the presenter didn't need to send a message as David had already texted in with the answer.

Chris read out: 'All right, this is Becks himself. He says, "By the way, I am totally obsessed with Rip. My favourite show of all time." Of course he is. Oi, Becks, dare you to come on the phone and talk to Rip. Come on. I dare you.'

Rip is the ranch foreman played by Cole in the hit show, which follows the Dutton family, led by patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner), as they control the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. Chris continued: '[He's] typing, three dots. "I have Rip coming on Paramount Champions League show tonight. I am so excited." Of course he's got all that going on… Oh gosh. He's typing something else again. Get back to the school run, David! Stop it now. Come on, Becks. Give it a rest… Oh, here's the third one. "Cowboy hats were out this weekend because I was listening to Luke Combs." He's got it all going on.'

Chris added: 'We have text four and five from Mr Beckham. He says, "School run done already. Workout going on. Victoria giving me evils because I'm on my phone texting you." Both of you, put your phones down and get on with it.'

Birthday Celebrations

Over the weekend, Victoria gave a glimpse into the former footballer's special day on Instagram. Despite son Brooklyn skipping the celebrations once again, Victoria filmed beaming David opening his birthday presents, which included a number of chickens that she revealed were 'from the boys'. She said: 'So it's David's birthday and this is what me and the kids bought him.' As David opened the box revealing three chickens, Victoria added: 'From the boys, he's so pretty and cute.' A second box also had three chickens, including a white chicken which Victoria insisted: 'This one is from Harper, it's so cute, it's a Harper chicken. They are so pretty, also I'm really appreciating the cowboy hat. I love you happy birthday.'

David was seen settling his new chickens into their coop as he removed his new feathery friends from their boxes. Elsewhere on his special day, David shared that he feels 'very blessed to have been spoiled by his family'. To mark his 51st birthday, the football legend shared a sweet throwback snap from his high school years. David penned: 'I feel very lucky & blessed to have had a very special day today being spoilt by my wife, kids, family and friends from the moment I opened my eyes till now and I just want to say thank you and I love you all so much & my beautiful family thank you.'
