Meanwhile, Jessica Belkin wore a stylish white one-piece bathing suit with a low neckline, adding a modern twist to the classic lifeguard look. The actors were later photographed at the shoreline with fellow cast members, all holding yellow lifeguard floats, a signature element of the Baywatch franchise.
Expanding the Cast with Fresh Talent
Additional stars recently announced for the upcoming show include Brooks Nader, Shay Mitchell, and Hassie Harrison. Last week, Brooks Nader confirmed her involvement through an Instagram post, sharing photos of herself with an official script bearing her name. In the caption, she expressed excitement and gratitude, writing, "I believed in this long before it made sense. Never give up, chase your dreams no matter how wild they are!!!!!" Nader, a Sports Illustrated model who wore the show's signature red swimsuit on a 2023 cover, will portray Selene, captain of the Zuma beach lifeguards.
Stephen Amell has been cast as the protagonist Hobie Buchannon, and he recently shared a photo of the director's slate on social media, signaling the start of production. Hassie Harrison joins the series as Nat, a foster kid-turned-Olympian, adding depth to the ensemble. The reboot is set to air for 12 episodes, aiming to capture the essence of the original while introducing new narratives.
Legacy of the Original Baywatch Series
The original Baywatch series, which aired from 1989 to 2001, followed the lives of lifeguards patrolling Los Angeles beaches and became a global phenomenon. Starring David Hasselhoff as Mitch Buchanan and Pamela Anderson as C.J. Parker, it garnered massive viewership despite mixed critical reviews. For its final two seasons, the show was retitled Baywatch: Hawaii, featuring future movie star Jason Momoa.
