I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has suffered another ratings blow, with the third episode of the current series drawing just 6.1 million viewers. This marks a significant decline of 2.3 million compared to the same episode last year, according to overnight figures.
The episode featured a heated row between contestants Nella Rose and Fred Sirieix, but the drama failed to boost viewership. The launch episode had already seen a drop, with a peak of 7.8 million (average 7 million), down 2.2 million from the previous year's launch. Including catch-up, the launch reached 9 million.
The last two episodes have become the least-watched first-week episodes in the show's history on ITV. Some attribute the decline to the inclusion of controversial former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, with nearly 10,000 people using the hashtag 'Boycott I'm A Celeb' on social media.
Viewers have expressed anger over Farage's participation, with some vowing to boycott the series. An ITV spokesperson defended the show, stating it received 'ITV's highest overnight audience of the year and the biggest entertainment launch across any channel.'
