In a candid revelation that will delight Game of Thrones fans, Alfie Allen has pulled back the curtain on the hit show's infamous cast WhatsApp group and the brutally honest nickname they had for his character, Theon Greyjoy.
The actor, who portrayed the tortured heir to the Iron Islands for all eight seasons, disclosed that the cast's private chat is still active years after the series concluded. The group's name? A not-so-subtle nod to Theon's most... compromising moment.
'Atomic' & The Awkward Legacy
"It's called 'No Cock Gang'," Allen confessed with a laugh during his recent appearance on the HiBob podcast. The name is a direct, and brutally hilarious, reference to the season five scene where Ramsay Bolton permanently maims Theon.
But that wasn't the only nickname for the unfortunate nobleman. Allen also revealed that among the cast and crew, Theon was often referred to as "Atomic" – a play on the phrase "at him" – due to his relentless and often misguided pursuit of approval.
The One Scene He Can't Shake
While Allen is proud of his work on the epic series, there's one particular sequence that still makes him squirm. He pointed to the highly charged and uncomfortable scene where Theon is forced to watch as his sister, Yara, is assaulted by their uncle Euron.
"That was a weird day," he recalled, highlighting the challenging nature of filming such intense storylines.
Despite the awkward moments and the dark path his character walked, Allen's portrayal of Theon's redemption arc remains one of the most critically acclaimed performances in the entire series. His revelations offer a hilarious and humanising glimpse into the bonds formed behind the scenes of a television phenomenon.
