Tell Me Lies has been cancelled after three seasons, with creator Meaghan Oppenheimer confirming the latest episode will be the series finale. The announcement came as a blow to fans of the Hulu and Disney Plus drama, which stars Grace Van Patten and Jackson White.
In a statement on Instagram, Oppenheimer said: 'After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale. This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it.' She added that while the show's popularity inspired discussions about continuing, the team felt the story had reached its natural conclusion.
The series follows a couple's toxic relationship over eight years, told across two timelines in 2008 and 2015. Van Patten told The Hollywood Reporter she loved the ending and would be happy whether it continued or not.
Fans reacted on Reddit, with one user saying they did not believe the news, while another praised the finale as 'amazing' and '10/10'. A third expressed disappointment, saying the show deserved more seasons, but acknowledged it was good to go out on the creators' terms.
