Netflix's 'A Man on the Inside' Renewed for Third Season

Netflix has ordered a third season of the comedy series 'A Man on the Inside', starring Ted Danson and created by Mike Schur. The renewal comes two and a half months after the second season premiered on 20 November.

The show, produced by Universal Television, has received critical acclaim with a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score for season two, down slightly from 96% for season one. Despite not cracking Netflix's weekly Top 10 for English series, the platform has opted to renew based on the proven creative team and continuous positive reviews.

Viewership for season two dropped by 55% compared to season one, with 9.8 million views in the second half of 2025 versus 21.6 million for season one in the same period the previous year. However, combined delivery of both seasons through end of 2025 exceeded 45 million views.

In season two, Charles Nieuwendyk (Danson) went undercover as a professor at Wheeler College to investigate a blackmailer, ultimately obtaining his private investigator licence. The third season will continue his sleuthing career.

Creator Mike Schur expressed delight at the renewal, praising Danson as 'a true American treasure'. The cast includes Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Stephanie Beatriz, Gary Cole, and Mary Steenburgen, among others.
