Fallout Season 3 Renewed by Amazon Ahead of Season 2 Premiere

Prime Video has renewed the hit video game adaptation 'Fallout' for a third season, well before the second season is set to premiere in December. The announcement comes as the show continues to draw massive audiences, with over 100 million viewers having watched Season 1, placing it among the top three most-watched titles on Prime Video.

The series, based on the popular post-apocalyptic gaming franchise, follows protagonist Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) as she emerges from an underground vault after a nuclear war devastates the world. Along her journey, she encounters irradiated creatures and characters while searching for her father Hank (Kyle Maclachlan), who was kidnapped by raiders. The cast also includes Aaron Moten as Maximus, a rogue Brotherhood of Steel member, and Walton Goggins as the Ghoul, a deformed bounty hunter revealed to be former Vault-Tec executive Cooper Howard.

Season 2 will pick up after the events of the Season 1 finale, where Lucy and her brother Norm (Moises Arias) discover their father's role in detonating a nuclear bomb, the Ghoul learns his pre-war family may still be alive, and Maximus is promoted to knight. Lucy and the Ghoul head off to find Vault-Tec's leaders, while Hank escapes to New Vegas, the fan-favourite, Las Vegas-inspired setting from the games.
