Conor McGregor Civil Rape Case: Verdict, Damages, Failed Appeals
Conor McGregor Civil Rape Case: Verdict, Damages, Appeals

Nikita Hand successfully sued UFC fighter Conor McGregor in a civil case, alleging he raped and assaulted her at a Dublin hotel in December 2018. In November 2024, a High Court jury in Dublin found McGregor civilly liable for assaulting Ms Hand after six hours of deliberation, rejecting his claim that the encounter was consensual.

Damages and Costs

The jury awarded Ms Hand exactly €248,603.60 (£206,714.31) in damages for the assault. McGregor was also ordered to pay her legal costs, estimated at approximately €1.3 million (£1.1 million).

Appeal and Dismissal

McGregor launched an appeal on five grounds, including fresh evidence from a former neighbour's affidavit, which was withdrawn before the hearing. On 31 July 2025, a three-judge Court of Appeal panel rejected all remaining grounds, upholding the original judgment. McGregor then sought a further appeal to the Supreme Court, which was definitively rejected on 4 December 2025, stating he had already received a fair hearing and a further appeal was not in the interests of justice.
