The critically acclaimed Disney+ drama 'The Bear', which has won 21 Primetime Emmy Awards, is now available to stream for free on ITVX. The series, which debuted in 2022, follows chef Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) as he returns to Chicago to take over his late brother's Italian beef sandwich shop after Michael's suicide.
Carmy leaves behind his career in Michelin-starred restaurants to manage the struggling family business, grappling with mounting debts, a rundown kitchen, and an unruly staff while confronting his own pain and family trauma. He hires ambitious young chef Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) as his deputy and attempts to work with Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), the shop's manager and Michael's best friend.
The ensemble cast also includes Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, Abby Elliott, Matty Matheson, and Edwin Lee Gibson. The series has been hailed as a 'masterpiece' by viewers, with one fan describing it as 'a slow roasting, character driven drama' and another calling it 'a stressful masterpiece'. The show has also won five Golden Globes.
Despite its success, star Jeremy Allen White has hinted that the upcoming fifth season could be the last, though creator Chris Storer has not confirmed any plans. The first season of 'The Bear' is now available to binge on ITVX.
