Coronation Street has officially arrived on Disney+ as part of a new partnership between ITV and the streaming giant. The move, announced in July 2025, is designed to give viewers more options for watching the long-running soap.
Under the promotional tie-up, Disney+ subscribers gain access to a 'Taste of ITVX' section, while the free streaming platform ITVX receives a 'Taste of Disney+' offering. ITV said the collaboration aims to 'expand viewer choice and celebrate the best of British and international storytelling'.
However, there is a catch for Coronation Street fans. Episodes will not appear on Disney+ at the same time as they air on ITV. Instead, they will be uploaded every Friday, exactly seven days after their original transmission. As a result, episodes broadcast between Monday 26 January and Friday 30 January are now available to watch on the platform.
Disney+ describes the show as 'the story of everyday life in a small and tightly-knit community is the core of the world's longest-running primetime drama serial and the highest-rating programme in the UK.' The news has prompted a bemused reaction on social media, with one fan writing: 'The concept of Coronation Street on Disney+? ? ? ? Lmfao.' Another said: 'Disney+ the only place you can get princesses, superheroes and Ken Barlow in the Rovers.'
Coronation Street continues to air on ITV1 on weekday evenings at 8.30pm, with episodes available to stream from 7am on ITVX.
