Victoria Beckham has officially embraced her new title of 'Lady Beckham', weeks after her husband, football legend David Beckham, was knighted by King Charles III. The former Spice Girl, who had remained publicly silent on the matter, confirmed her status during a television appearance, bringing a formal close to the question of how she would be addressed following the royal honour bestowed upon her husband.
A Title Confirmed on Live Television
During an episode of What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the host directly asked the fashion designer about her new designation. Andy Cohen clarified that as David is now Sir David Beckham, Victoria was entitled to be called Lady Beckham. In response, the 51-year-old simply stated, "I am Lady Beckham." When Cohen playfully suggested the moniker 'Lady Posh', a nod to her iconic Spice Girls persona, she joked, "Listen, whatever you want – whatever you want, anything for you."
While the title is automatically granted to the wife of a knight, its use remains a personal choice. Notably, Victoria has not yet updated her social media profiles to reflect her new style. The confirmation came just over a month after the emotional knighting ceremony at Windsor Castle, which Victoria attended alongside David's parents, Sandra and Ted.
A Family Celebration and a Notable Absence
The ceremony in November was a landmark moment for the Beckham family. David described it as the "proudest moment" of his career, three decades after his debut for Manchester United. Following the investiture, the family celebrated with their children—Romeo, Cruz, and Harper—with David quipping they could call him "Sir Dad". The festivities continued at a reception hosted by their friend, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
However, the family gatherings highlighted the continued absence of eldest son Brooklyn. Reports in recent years have pointed to a strained relationship between Brooklyn and the rest of the family, and he was once again missing from the official events surrounding his father's knighthood.
Tributes from a Power Couple
Marking the occasion on social media, Victoria shared a heartfelt tribute to her husband of 24 years. She wrote about his enduring pride in representing his country and his deep respect for the Royal Family. "To see you honoured by The King today is something I'll forever cherish," she stated, praising him as a kind, humble, and hardworking man, husband, and father.
David, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005 and recently named an ambassador for The King's Foundation, spoke of his charitable motivations at Windsor Castle. "All the things that I do, I do out of love," he said, emphasising that his work is driven by the values of respect instilled in him and a belief that his efforts will never cease.
The couple's famous friends were quick to congratulate them. Well-wishers included Kris Jenner, fashion designer Donatella Versace, and actress Gemma Oaten, who praised them as a "power couple" and "kind, good-hearted humans." With Victoria's public acknowledgment, the Beckhams now fully step into their new roles as Sir David and Lady Beckham.
