Princess Anne Breaks Silence: First Words After Hospital Release Revealed
Princess Anne speaks after hospital discharge

Princess Anne has shared her first public remarks since leaving the hospital after suffering injuries from a horse-related accident. The Princess Royal, known for her equestrian passion, expressed her appreciation for the medical care she received during her five-night stay at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

The 73-year-old royal was discharged on Friday morning and is now recuperating at home. While Buckingham Palace has not released specific details about her injuries, sources confirm she is making good progress in her recovery.

A Royal Close Call

The incident occurred on the Princess's Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire last Sunday evening. Emergency services were called to the scene after Anne sustained head injuries believed to be from a horse's kick or headbutt.

"The Princess wishes to thank the medical team and all the hospital staff who cared for her," a palace spokesperson stated. "She's deeply touched by all the kind messages she's received."

Royal Duties Temporarily Postponed

As a result of the incident, Princess Anne has postponed several upcoming engagements, including her planned attendance at this weekend's state banquet for the Japanese state visit. The hardworking royal, who completed 457 official engagements last year - more than any other family member - is expected to gradually return to duties after medical clearance.

The Princess Royal's accident has highlighted the risks involved in her lifelong equestrian activities. An accomplished rider, Anne previously competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympics as part of the British equestrian team and remains actively involved in horse breeding and competitions.
