Prince Harry has disclosed the two names he is most comfortable with, playfully dismissing his royal title. During a light-hearted appearance on former England rugby star Joe Marler's We'll See You Now podcast, the Duke of Sussex said he would rather be called 'Harry' or simply 'H' than 'Duke.'
Podcast Intake Questionnaire
After being introduced by his full name, 'Henry Charles Albert David,' Prince Harry was asked if he would consider shortening it. 'Harry,' he replied. When a host suggested further shortening it to 'H,' the Duke laughed and seemed pleased with the nickname. The host joked, 'H. H. H. Hey.' Prince Harry responded with a smile, 'It's a bit creepy.'
Joe Marler then revealed he wore a ring bearing the initial 'H' as a sign of admiration, explaining there wasn't enough room to write Harry's full name. 'I haven't actually got enough room to write your name, so we'll just go with Harry or just H,' Marler said. 'That's great,' Prince Harry answered.
Occupation: Full-Time Dad and Veteran
Later in the interview, Prince Harry was asked to describe his occupation. Instead of leading with his royal title, he responded: 'Full-time dad, British Army veteran.' The hosts interjected with 'Prince of England' before suggesting 'Duke.' 'For today,' Prince Harry laughed. 'What do you want?' After the hosts replied 'Duke,' he agreed, saying, 'Yeah, obviously for today as well because of where we are.'
Invictus Games Founder Correction
The conversation then shifted to the Invictus Games. When the hosts referred to him as the 'inventor' of the international sporting competition for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans, Prince Harry jokingly corrected them: 'Founder. That's probably the better word.'
