Prince Harry emotional over Archie and Lilibet photo

Prince Harry became emotional while speaking about his two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in a new video for the MasterClass learning platform. The Duke of Sussex appeared in a session titled “Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss,” hosted by Dr Mary-Frances O’Connor.

In a clip shared on YouTube, the platform aimed to show how “every chapter of our lives leaves something with us” and that sometimes, “it takes looking back to realise just how far we’ve come.” During the session, Harry was shown a picture of Archie and Lilibet walking on sand with a mountain in the background. He revealed he had taken the photo himself, which his wife had previously shared on Instagram.

Harry on fatherhood and family

Reflecting on the image, Harry said: “I love this photo. I took this photo. This was just before Archie's birthday.” He continued: “The two of them, brother and sister, at peace with each other in nature fills my heart. I'm proud that we've got this far. You know, super happy that I've got two healthy, beautiful, amusing, very funny kids.”

He added: “Becoming a father is an emotional rollercoaster. I wish I'd known how hard being a father was going to be. But I wouldn't change it for the world. I think the advice I would have given to myself is, 'Hold on tight, because it's gonna be one hell of a ride.”

Payment for the talk

The appearance comes as a source close to Prince Harry confirmed he was paid for the talk, amid reports he was handed up to £75,500 ($100,000) for the session. The Daily Mail reported that the duke may have received $100,000 plus a share of subscription revenues from the online platform.

The cost of an annual MasterClass membership ranges from £120 to £228. A source close to Harry confirmed he had been paid, but said the exact details were not discussed. “I’d encourage everyone to watch it before casting any judgment,” they added, and said the duke should not be criticised for “speaking from the heart”.
