Speculation is growing that a new 'Fab Four' could be forming within the Royal Family, as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge grow closer to the Earl and Countess of Wessex. The original Fab Four – Prince William, Kate, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – disbanded after Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in March.
During a video call for International Nurses Day, Kate and Sophie were seen joking about homeschooling, with Sophie offering to help with Kate's efforts. Fans noted their close bond, with one tweeting: 'Seeing Kate and Sophie together reminded me of so many of their fun times, they really do have such a close bond.'
The Queen is said to have urged working royals to present a united front during the coronavirus crisis. Royal sources told the Mirror that the monarch wants the family to 'heal' after a turbulent 2019, and that William, Kate, Edward and Sophie are at the forefront of this plan.
Both Kate and Sophie have strong ties to healthcare: Kate is patron of the Evelina London Children's Hospital and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, while Sophie is Global Ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness and Colonel-in-Chief of the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps.
The original Fab Four nickname was coined when William, Kate, Harry and Meghan were seen as a close-knit group. However, Harry confirmed a rift in an ITV documentary last October, saying they were 'on different paths'. The Sussexes officially left royal life on March 31.
